UK premiere: The impossible picture/Das unmögliche Bild

This is the UK premiere of Sandra Wollner’s first feature film, Das unmögliche Bild./The impossible Picture. The screening will be followed by Q&A with the director, Sandra Wollner, in conversation with Dr Áine McMurtry.

The Impossible Picture portrays the everyday life of a Viennese family in the 1950s, documented by 13-year-old Johanna: a childhood captured on 8mm film (or perhaps, a childhood as it might have been). Wollner’s film received the German Cinema New Talent Award at the Hof International Film Festival 2016.
